May 16 - Turtle Days - TheLighting of the Tiki Torches - The reigning King & Queen Sargassum (along with their court of kayakers) will paddle the entire length of the island lighting tiki torches along the bay culminating in a party at Pam Street Pier. Break out the Hawaiian duds and get ready for summer!
May 17 - The Turtle Ball will take place at Club Pelican West this year. This is a costume ball, so get working on your sea/sand/pirate costume and stay tuned for more details!
May 24 - Memorial Day kicks off another summer's worth of Friday night Fireworks on the Bay

June 21 - International Surfing Day - Surfrider Foundation South Texas Chapter will be holding two free clinics at Isla Blanca Park at 8:30 AM and 12:30 PM for local and visiting children (age 8-14) to promot the sport of surfing and raise awaremness of the ecological challenges that we face. Both clinics will includ a presentation on the birth and life of a wave, basic water safey and surfboard riding instruction. Surfboards, water, lunch and a t-shirt will be provided for all participants and a rescue diver will be on hand for safety. For reg. or more info, contact robaroo2000@gmail.com or call 956-433-1472.
